The journey and a million reasons why...
The journey + a millions reasons why…
There is a journey we will all take in this lifetime. If we were to look at it as an 90 year journey, and all that we need to accomplish/do/learn/change - we would get overwhelmed.
Think about how much a baby grows and develops the first year of life. Rolling over, sitting up, eating, walking…
What if we had to learn how to walk (again) as an adult?
Would you give up? Or keep going?
Would you look at the other person running and say I’ll never be that good”. Or choose to see the possibilities?
When a baby falls down do you ever see them NOT get back up? Do you see a healthy baby just NOT ever walk? No, they live in the moment and see their caregivers walking, and say “I WILL do that”, this is the way, keep going, and they never give up.
So why do we?
We have years stories that we hold onto and continue to create…they tell us all the reason why we can’t. But the laws of nature from age 0 until 99, are still the same.
The laws of physics don’t change, we just learn more about them over time. We can still learn to walk, but we have chosen to believe in the “this is impossible” stories.
What’s your story?
As an adult with a million reason of why you can’t…
I’m not disciplined enough I’ve always been XX weight
I can’t imagine this situation being different
I didn’t come from that kind of family
I’m not good enough I’m not lovable
It just never works out for me that way
A baby hasn’t started believing in the stories yet. They only believe the possibility of something more.
Learning how to walk again, create a new habit, start over, isn’t easy. But if we break apart our journey into bite size pieces, focus on one day, one feeling, we begin to see the possibilities.
What if you take the childlike wonder, that you were born with and believed in the possibilities?
What story do you need to let go of, so you can learn to walk again?
Today is the day to start fresh.
Start new.
